Ex-chief to seek costs from Montgomery

A decision is expected Friday on whether retired detective Ken Montgomery will have to cover some of former chief John Lindsay’s legal costs.
The costs are related to a court hearing last year. The police commission and deputy chief Fred Rayner also want Court of Queen Bench Justice W. Patrick Sullivan to award them costs associated with the same case.
The issue of costs arose from Montgomery’s attempt late last year to stop an internal police disciplinary hearing into allegations he engaged in professional misconduct with a female. Montgomery has since retired from the police department.
