Couple calls for charges against police in man’s arrest

EDMONTON - Edmonton police conducted a “cosmetic” investigation into an excessive force complaint, a lawyer argued before a hearing of the provincial Law Enforcement Review Board.
The hearing, which began Jan. 16, concluded Wednesday. Lawyer Tom Engel, representing complainants John and Ann Welton, wants the board to order Edmonton police chief Bob Wasylyshen to lay misconduct charges in the case.
