EDMONTON SUN

EDMONTON, CANADA – A female city police officer is being investigated after a pornographic video and a screen saver saying “I t Gay Porn” was downloaded onto a man’s computer during a police raid.

The officer is identified as Const. Christa Pennie.

Both the victim, Sean David Critch, 24, and his defence lawyer, Chady Moustarah, are horrified at what they describe as a “disgusting” abuse of police powers.

EDMONTON — Police had difficulty retrieving data from an officer’s Taser because the weapon had been damaged, court heard Wednesday during Const. Jeffrey Resler’s assault trial.

When a Taser is fired, the time, date and other relevant information is stored inside the weapon. The information is accessible through a data port.

The judge of an inquiry into the drowning of a Ugandan refugee fleeing from Edmonton police has ruled against the family’s attempt to adjourn the proceedings so they could bring in a lawyer.

Officers chased Charles Wula, 38, from his wife’s apartment to the North Saskatchewan River on July 27, 2005. His body was found a week later.

A three-day fatality inquiry into his death is being held in an Edmonton provincial court and will wrap up Friday.
