Cop seeking reinstatement after losing at least $40,000 in pay EDMONTON SUN A city cop’s troubles are taking their toll on his pocketbook. Const. Sebastien Berube, who’s in hot water for taking strip club employees to the downtown EPS headquarters nearly two years ago and failing to properly supervise them, has lost at least $40,000 in wages since he was suspended without pay last summer for an unrelated incident, according to the head of the police union. Berube, who’s married to Const. Angie Berube, will ask for his pay to be reinstated when he goes before the Edmonton Police Commission next month, said Staff Sgt. Peter Ratcliff, president of the Edmonton Police Association.

Sebastien Berube withdrawn was thrown out this morning, leaving the beat officer to answer to a handful of deceit and insubordination allegations. Berube pleaded not-guilty to all five counts. The details listed in a notice of disciplinary proceedings allege Berube’s single insubordination charge is the result of bringing women, who worked at a strip club, to the constable’s lounge at police headquarters in downtown Edmonton on Feb. 20, 2005. It is alleged he did not adequately supervise or remain with his guests.
